You're young, smart, with an unlimited potential? But what about your faults? Well, some pleasant small things: you are sometimes late, you talk on the phone a lot or you do not answer at all, you're "a little" misogynist ... Nobody told you anything yet, but the most ferocious enemy of your career ... is you. Do not panic! Admit your "sins" and learn to reorient.
1. Flirt and amorous relationships
Without any intention, do you have the talent to make your colleagues and boss talk because of your remarks, jokes, allusions and sexual statements? If you know you are rugged and with a loose mouth, do exercises of self-control. It really works and, soon, you will know to weigh every word. If you mix with your boss your every achievement will be put under the magnifying glass of doubt: professional skill or sexual talent? Or maybe you will be considered gigolo and other women will call for your services.
2. Spelling mistakes
If a conversation with a friend on Messenger allows you a certain freedom and a certain dose of go, the reports, the business letters and official e-mails containing grammar mistakes, put a stamp difficult to be deleted. In the best case, it will be said that you are thoughtless; that you don’t care about important details or that you're careless. But most will laugh and chat on your account, and they will even impeach about your intellectual capacities. If you have to send an e-mail to a client or a project to your boss, check at least 3 times the text drafted. Or at least ask a colleague to do it.
3. The defensive attitude
Wining and screams have no place at the office. If you do not resist the pressure, do not let anyone see it. In any event, do not swear and do not slam down on the keypad. The defensive attitude, always in defense, will drop you further into disfavor. Assume responsibility for your deeds and your mistakes and stop blaming your colleagues!
4. Failures of expression
The manner in which you articulate, your tone, the inflexions of your voice, the art of oratory or the way in which you could have a conversation say a lot about intelligence and competence in general. Ask someone who has the courage to call spade a spade, to keep you under surveillance for a week. Like this he will see little tics or other phrases that you can not "unstick" from. Give up the hmmm, deh, aaaaaa at the opening “so”, do not grumble, speak loud and clear, your phrases have to be logical, with subject and predicate.
If you can not wake up, if you're dead tired, rest up. Go to sleep early and wake up earlier in the morning. So you are sure you are not going to be late. Excuses like: you have not found parking place or you have a hangover are not interesting for anybody. They will consider that you are not organized, unserious and that you do not respect those with whom you work. And if you are not trustworthy, there is no place for you in the company! Give proof of verticality, grit and loyalty. Thus you will be valued in any company.
