Exercising the mind
Just looking buff and tight like a tiger will not get you anywhere in life unless you have a foreign accent (preferably Austrian or French) and your name finishes with an "-eneger" or it contains the particle "Van".
It is clear that there are women who don’t care what their man has inside his head as long as he looks like a walking mass of muscle. Sure, looking hot is a pro, but the mother of all pros is looking good and having a fit mind. You know how women get pissed when you don’t seem to remember the day you met, her birthday, that it was time to take out the trash, and I could go on forever. If you have a trained mind you can save yourself from a lot of screaming and having to burglarize a flower shop because by the time you remembered it is her birthday all stores are closed. And you are not only doing it to have a little peace and quiet, you should exercise your memory because by going so you are lessening the odds of senility. You must start taking care of your brain by challenging it. Learn a foreign language; learn to play a musical instrument, play games that stimulate the mind. If you keep exercising your brain keeps it growing and it stimulates new nerve connections that help make your brain fit. Another way to make sure that your memory is a keeper is exercising. Going to the gym or jogging allows better oxygenation of the tissues and it improves blood flow – this in turn makes you feel more relaxed and mentally alert and these two are crucial in improving the memory. Stress. Who has not once in his/her life said "I feel so stressed"? even if stress does not damage the brain it does affect your ability to observe and memorize things and it also makes remembering things more difficult. You need to relax, practice yoga or go swimming and if your stress problem persists visit your doctor for information about severe chronic stress. Improve your diet. A healthy diet means a healthy brain so you need to start eating for your brain. What stimulates the brain and memory is food containing antioxidants (broccoli, spinach, blueberries) and Omega-3 fatty acids (fish, milk, eggs). Vitamins E and B 6 are also good supplements for the brain. It is also good to eat 6 small meals per day instead of 3 large meals. I bet that every one has at least once forgotten the name of the person they were just introduced to. This is not because there is something wrong with our memory; it is because we rarely make a conscious effort to remember things. If you concentrate on remembering a name or a date you are more likely to memorize it. You can also do a simple exercise that will improve your attention and memory. Take a look at a picture then turn it face down on the table and try to remember as many details as you can. It may help if you lose your eyes and recreate the picture in your mind. You should repeat this exercise using different pictures. In time you will notice that it will take less time to look at a picture and you will remember more and more details. If you are trying to form a memory you should give yourself time to do so. For example, f you want to memorize a phone number distractions are the last thing you need. You have to focus on the phone number or whatever it is you are trying to memorize and not think about something else in that time. If you try to memorize and remember something you have to avoid performing complicated tasks and distractions. ANOTHER way of remembering things is to repeat them. When you are introduced to a guy named Bob, instead of saying "Nice to meet you". Say "Nice to meet you Bob". It also works if you write down the date of a birthday or the mane of your new coworker. Grouping items you need to memorize can also be helpful. If you have to make changes to a project try to group the changes according to the area of the project where they need to be implemented. Remember the number of changes that need to be made in each area. If you know that 3 changes need to be made in a certain area you will remember the specific changes better. Organizing things around you can give you time to focus on more important things. Make special places in which to put your car keys or your mobile phone. This lessens the chance of misplacing them and forgetting where you put them. It also saves time to find them and cleaning the mess you make while ransacking the house to find the lost item. A good memory helps improve the quality of your life in the short term and it can also help prevent the onset of dementia. Keeping your brain fit is the key to enjoying a good life.
