There is a right way and a wrong way to 'stalk' someone these days. If you have an old flame from high school that you would love to run into again, then this article is for you. Lots of people left unfinished business behind when they graduated from high school, but it’s never too late to search out an old flame – or even someone you wanted to date. For all you know, she might be wondering about you! Who knows? Maybe she will think you're cool now! Plus, she may be single, lonely, and hotter than ever. So read on if you want to fire up that high school love one last time. Maybe it was meant to be?
Who Is She?
It doesn’t seem fair to limit this article to teenage girls we actually dated. Back in grades 10-12, some of us were a little nerdy, shy, and probably lacking in self-confidence. Or maybe the girl you always wanted to date was dating some other guy (jerk) all during high school, so you never got a crack at her. And let’s not forget about those sexy girls who were only class for a year or less, then their family moved away – just when you had worked up the nerve to call her! Finally, there are the late bloomers. You know the girls we mean. The ones you never would have looked at twice in grade 10 or 11, then all of sudden they got boobs, a body, and the acne cleared up in grade 12. Next thing you know, she was scooped up by one of the guys on the football team. So before you begin looking, you might want to dust off the a few of the old yearbooks to see if there is anyone that fits the criteria, then you can start to look.
Stage 1 – Finding Her!
1. Classmates.com
Thanks to classmates.com – and their plethora of ad banners – most of us have probably checked out the list from their old school to see who has signed up. They have a free service, which requires you to fill out some basic info and allows you access to see who signed up from your school and graduation year. If you pay the premium price and become a gold member, you get access to photos, bios, information on people who checked you out, and you can email specific people and post messages. Fun, fun, fun! The only catch is you have to pay for this service, and there is no guarantee that the person you are interested is also a gold member.
2. Six Degrees Of High School Friends
Nowadays, thanks to computers, most people find it easier to keep in touch with old friends. Use this to your advantage. Start with a friend and go from there. The odds are good he/she will still be in contact with someone else, and you can keep working your way through the list. Girls (now women) are great at this.
3. Her Parents
As simple as this sounds, a lot of guys don’t think about doing it. If she used to live on a street in your old neighbourhood, then the odds are good her parents still live in that same house. A friendly phone call might get you some information. Worse case scenario, you give them your number and email address and ask them to pass it along.

4. GOOGLE
Searching for a real live person on Google – or any other search engine – can be a challenge. But if you persevere, you might hit pay dirt. Link her name to things she liked to do – like swimming, volleyball, etc. She might still be involved in those sports as an adult in a recreational league. Even if she coaches for some kids softball team, the chances are good her name will pop up linked to something.
5. Plan A Reunion!
Don’t wait for 25 years to have a reunion. If you start to organize a reunion, names and addresses will come your way. Set up a website and get the ball rolling. Before you know it, people will have self-registered and you can pull her name from the list. Maybe she can help you organize things? The best part about this technique is that you can get them to provide bios, so you will know everything you need to know going in.
Stage 2 – Making Contact
Once you have located her, it is up to you to make contact in a way that won’t ‘weird her out’. The last thing you want to do is come across as some desperate stalker, so you need to make some choices here. The two main ones are upfront or stealth.
Upfront – in this scenario, she is already aware you have been trying to track her down. If you come in casual, you won’t scare her off. If you sound like a horny stalker, you will. If she lives in another city, you can just say you had heard she lived there and you thought that getting together sounded cool.
Stealth – this is where you lie, lie, and lie some more! – But all for a good cause. You can make your first meeting seem accidental or happenstance, which will only add to the excitement of the night. If things go well, then you can let her in on the charade. Hopefully by then she will see this as romantic, and not a lame attempt to get in her pants. But if she knows you took the time to find her because you had unresolved feelings, she won’t stay mad long.
Stage: 3 – Love Her Or Leave Her?
The best thing about hooking up with an old flame – or someone you wanted real bad but never got – is that you will both have so much common ground to start building on. Add on the ‘maturity’ you have gained since grade 12, and the sky is the limit. Spend sometime with her to try and see if there is anything still there from when you were both teens. If there is, then you might have just written your own love story. If there isn’t anything other than lust, then lust away, friend. You waited a longtime to clear up this unfinished business, so don’t leave any itch unscratched. Otherwise, the next time you start wondering about her she might be in the room next to yours at the retirement home.
